The Sonnet Poetry Writing Project explores a traditional European form of poetry closely associated with William Shakespeare - the Sonnet. Sonnets are fourteen line poems consisting of ten syllables in each line written in iambic pentameter. Though the form itself is not considered a challenge, the mastery of iambic pentameter often poses difficulty for poets.
All members and authors are invited to participate in this Writing Project. If you think you would like to take part, please click on the "Participate" link in the banner above, where you will find the rules related to this Writing Project, links to information about sonnets to help you understand this poetic form, and the submission form you are required to use when submitting your sonnets to The Authors Haunt.
