Welcome to The Authors Haunt Conversations Fiction Writing Project.  This is just one of the many ongoing Writing Projects here at The Authors Haunt.  These projects are open to all members and authors who want to try their hand at experimenting with a new style, format or theme, or to simply develop their existing skills.

This particular Writing Project is entitled "Conversations" and the stories submitted are, or should be, at least 90% dialogue with the plot and action being divulged through conversation rather than narrative.  Many authors give into the temptation of skipping over entire conversations in their stories by simply writing a couple of paragraphs outlining what was said.  Sometimes this works, but all too often it seems cold and impersonal.

Humans are essentially social creatures.  We talk to one another.  Sometimes our conversations are not easy, but a lot can be learned about the relationship between people, and about their characters, by the way they speak to one another.  The aim of this Writing Project is to encourage authors to explore the art of conversation and ensure that it is not unnecessarily lost in their stories.
